Healdsburg Unified Votes on "Safe Haven"

Healdsburg Unified School District has joined the listof districts adopting "Safe Haven" policies. The action was taken at their Feb 15 board meeting.

As reported in the Healdsburg Trib: "Besides making students feel safe in campus, the board affirms that, “[they] shall not allow ICE agents on school sites, facilities or material property without prior written approval from the Superintendent.”

If you're wondering about where the Trump administration is heading on deportations, this Vox story is worth a read. It notes "Almost everyone in the US without papers is now a priority for deportation."

School News is tracking these resolutions as they pass (or we hear about them), and we've got more than two dozen listed here.

If we have missed your district or if you would like to correct any information, please email feedback@calschoolnews.org and we will include it.
