Patterson Join Unified is Safe Haven
The Patterson Joint Unified school board approved a safe haven resolution Monday night promising to keep immigrant staff and students protected from ICE and other federal agents.
The resolution lists the practices that the district will follow in order to ensure the success of students regardless of immigration status.
The district is just one of many to pass similar resolutions since the November election in anticipation of campaign promises being kept.
The district enrolls more than 6,000 students, according to data obtained by the CDE.
