Orchard Superintendent Resigns
The Superintendent of Orchard School District in San Jose has chosen to resign due to “lack of support” from the school board.
Dr. Joel Herrera and three of the board members have faced several disputes since the appointment of trustee Richard Morales last May. Morales along with trustees Karl Jacobson and Katherine Kasolas-Jacobson have continually created opposition for the Superintendent.
Prior to becoming Orchard Superintendent in 2015, Herrera was the director of human resources at Cupertino Union, and a school administrator for Gilroy, Oak Grove, and East Side school districts.
The board will now have to decide how they will find a replacement for Dr. Herrera.
