New Superintendent for Dixie School District

The Dixie School Board has selected Jason Yamashiro as the district’s newest superintendent.

Yamashiro is expected to be confirmed at the July 11 meeting. He replaces Superintendent Thomas Lohwasser who retired earlier this year after serving 22 years as the district’s leader, making him Marin County’s longest-serving school superintendent.

Yamashiro is currently the superintendent for Old Adobe Union School District. Both Old Adobe Union and Dixie school districts enroll about 1,900 students each.

Information about potential salary is unavailable as of yet, but we can expect to see Superintendent Yamashiro begin his new role in the next few weeks. Old Adobe Union will now have to find a replacement
