Fresno Unified Teachers Closer to Striking

Fresno Unified teachers could go on strike next month.

The Fresno Teachers Association currently has about 4,000 members and only 1,000 are needed to be an attendance at October’s meeting in order to successfully go on strike, according to the Fresno Bee.

It’s been close to 40 years since the union’s last strike, but it is a very huge possibility for the state’s fourth largest school district.

FTA President Tish Rice has said that the union does not want to strike, but they’re preparing just in case.

A mediator has been called in, so hopefully a deal can be made before October.
