Monterey County Superintendent to Retire in 2019

The Monterey County Superintendent has announced her plans to retire.

Dr. Nancy Kotowski has served in the position since 2006 and is currently fulfilling her third term. But as of January 2019, a new leader will take over.

According to the Monterey Herald, Dr. Kotowski led Monterey County Office of Education’s Educational Services Division for 14 years before being elected Sperintendent.

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District Superintendent will be getting a nice bonus.

In a unanimous vote, the Board voted this week to give Superintendent Fred Navarro a $34,450 bonus.
