Wildfire Forces School Closures for Orange Unified

Another fire in the Anaheim Hills area has forced several school closures.

For the second time in two weeks, a wildfire has broken out near the Anaheim-Corona border. The Canyon Fire 2 has already seen the destruction of multiple homes and evacuation for several cities of Orange County.

Orange Unified has announced that the following schools were closed as a result:

  • Anaheim Hills Elementary
  • Running Springs Elementary
  • Canyon Rim Elementary
  • Chapman Hills Elementary
  • Linda Vista Elementary
  • Panorama Elementary
  • El Modena High School
  • Santiago Charter School
  • El Rancho Charter School

However, El Modena High School is currently being used as an evacuation center for the community.

Most of the schools will remain closed into Wednesday, except for El Modena High School, Santiago Charter Middle School, El Rancho Charter Middle School, which are scheduled to resume classes.
