Only 25% of School Salary Information is Reported

State Controller Betty T. Yee has released the information about 2016 salary and benefits for K-12 employees. However, the self-reported information is missing information from about 75 percent of education employers.

Education employers consist of public school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education. Requests were sent to 1,912 K-12 education employers, and 514 chose to report in the interest of transparency. And of those, one 471 reports were complete.

That means we have data from 636,000 employees, but that’s only a quarter of the K-12 workforce.
