Newport-Mesa Superintendent Will Receive $35,000 Bonus

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District Superintendent will be getting a nice bonus.

In a unanimous vote, the Board voted this week to give Superintendent Fred Navarro a $34,450 bonus.

According to The OC Register, the money will be paid into a tax shelter annuity, a retirement plan similar to a 401K.

Navarro will receive a $282,944 salary for the 2017-18 school year.

His pay will increase to $289,915 for the following school year.
