Vista Unified Finds New Superintendent; Anaheim Now Needs One

Anaheim Elementary School District will have to find a new Superintendent.

Superintendent Dr. Linda Kimble has accepted the same position at Vista Unified School District in San Diego County.

The Vista Unified Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Kimble at its meeting on Tuesday night. She will begin duties in early January.

“I am truly grateful for the wonderful opportunities and experiences afforded to me during my tenure in Anaheim,” said Dr. Kimble. “Together, we have made a tremendous and positive difference for the children and families we serve.”

During her term, AESD implemented a districtwide music curriculum and passed a $318 million bond measure to improve school buildings and facilities across the district.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kimble to our district and community,” said Vista Unified Board President Rich Alderson. “Her award-winning leadership across Southern California will be a tremendous asset to Vista.”

Dr. Kimble joined Anaheim Elementary in 2012 after serving as Superintendent for Monrovia Unified School District. She has also served as Superintendent for Keppel Union and Acton-Agua Dulce unified.

She began her career as a bilingual and migrant education teacher in Palmdale School District.
