Financial Officer at Oakland Unified Leaves District Amid Budget Crisis

The senior business officer at Oakland Unified School district has stepped down.

Vernon Hall has been blamed for the current budget crisis in the district with accusations that he has absent for months in regards to budget cut discussions.

The district underwent $9 million in budget cuts this past year.

Oakland Unified is looking to fill the position soon.

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District Superintendent will be getting a nice bonus.

In a unanimous vote, the Board voted this week to give Superintendent Fred Navarro a $34,450 bonus.
