Los Gatos Union Superintendent Fired

Los Gatos Union School District Superintendent Diana Abbati was fired this week, 6 months after receiving a vote of no confidence from the teachers union.

Abbati has been placed on a 90-day administrative leave with pay, and will receive a severance payment equal to 12 months’ worth of pay. Her contract had her salary at $227,000 annually.

She’s served as Superintendent for seven years with her contract set to expire in 2019.

Last year, the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association gave her a vote of “no confidence.”

The District is now on the hunt for a permanent replacement.
