Ventura Unified Teachers and Staff Receive Pay Bump

The Ventura Unified School Board voted to pass a 2 percent salary increase for teachers and staff.

The District has been negotiating the pay raise with the Ventura Unified Education Association and the Ventura Education Support Professionals Association for the past two years and a tentative agreement was finally settled in November.

However, a vote to approve the agreement was postponed due to the catastrophic Thomas Fire that shut down many schools in the district.

The new legislation will give employees a 2 percent salary increase, two additional personal days off, and a $400 bonus for anyone who worked at least 50 percent during the 2016-2017 work year.
