Rosemead School District Fires Longtime Superintendent

After nearly 20 years serving as Superintendent for Rosemead School District, Amy Enomoto-Perez has been fired.

The school board voted 3-1 not to renew Enomoto-Perez’ contract, with board member Ron Esquivel opposing the decision. Board member Rhonda Harmon was absent.

The principal at Encinita Elementary School, Jennifer Fang will serve as interim superintendent until the district can find a permanent replacement.

Enomoto-Perez has served as Superintendent since 1999 and been with the district since 1981.

The board has not yet provided a reason for her termination.
