Temple City Unified Superintendents Sign $500,000 Contract

Temple City Unified previously appointed two interim superintendents to replace the ousted Kathy Perini. Now residents are upset about the pay rate the two will receive while the district finds a permanent Superintendent.

According to the contract interim superintendents Mark Skvarna and Richard Tauer will be paid $250 an hour from May 24, 2018 to June 30, 2019. That rate for a 40-hour work week means $520,000 annually for each interim.

Perini was receiving $196,750 in base pay as Temple City Unified’s chief of schools.

Residents were already upset at the board for voting to not renew Perini’s contract in April. An effort to recall two board members is currently underway.
