Seal Beach Principal Under Fire for Controversial Post About Kaepernick’s Nike Deal

A principal in Orange County is facing backlash for social media posts calling former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick a thug in wake of new Nike deal.

The decision by Nike to sign Kaepernick to an ad deal has sparked outrage across the nation with some people protesting the decision by burning their own Nike gear….sometimes while still wearing it.

One of those protestors is McGaugh Elementary School Principal Roni Burns-Ellis, who in a now deleted post referred to Kaepernick as an “anti-American thug.”

A petition asking school leaders to “act civilly, treat each other with respect, and not engage in name calling,” was started in response to the post. The petition is addressed to Los Alamitos Unified and has more than 2,000 signatures.
