Fresno Unified Administrator Holland Locker Dead at 61

A Fresno Unified administrator who had been with the district for more than three and a half decades has died after a battle with cancer.

Holland Locker passed away Friday at the age of 61, according to an announcement from Superintendent Bob Nelson. In an email to staff, Nelson called him a “deeply rational leader who put others first and who fought hard for our kids.”

“Today is a sad day as his loss is felt at every level of our district,” said district spokeswoman Amy Idsvoog.

Locker began his career as a teacher 36 years ago. He worked his way up to an administrator position, finally becoming assistant superintendent for school leadership.
