UC Davis Professor Says Cops “Need to Be Killed”

A UC Davis comparative literature student has uncovered shocking comments made by one of the university’s professors, calling for the murder of police officers.

“People think that cops need to be reformed. They need to be killed,” UC Davis literature professor and author Joshua Clover said during an interview in 2016.

Two years earlier, he had issued the following tweet:

“I mean, it's easier to shoot cops when their backs are turned, no?"

“I am thankful that every living cop will one day be dead, some by their own hand, some by others, too many of old age,” Clover also wrote.

The student who exposed the remarks, Nick Irvin, said he thinks it’s important the public be made aware of the comments — especially in light of the recent murder of a Davis police officer

"I think there should be no statute of limitations at all on violent sentiments online," Irvin said.

The school has issued a statement condemning the remarks but, as of Wednesday, Clover appeared to still be employed. He’s not showing any remorse either.

"On the day that police have as much to fear from literature professors as black kids do from police, I will definitely have a statement,” the professor told Fox40. “Until then I have nothing further to add."

For most kids, animal dissection is the part of science class that evokes an immediate sense of dread. State law even allows students to opt out of the practice if they morally object.
