Lakeport Unified Hires New Superintendent

Clear Lake High School Principal Jill Falconer has been named the next superintendent of the Lakeport Unified School District. The Board hired her Wednesday, approving a three-year contract that runs through June 30, 2022. Falconer will earn $158,475 per year with annual increases to follow.

Falconer has been with the district for two and a half decades and has served as Clear Lake High’s principal for the past two. She previously held the principal’s job at Terrace Middle School and served as the district’s director of curriculum and instruction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from California State University, Chico and a master’s degree in reading education from the University of California, Berkeley.

Falconer was one of nine candidates being considered to replace April Leiferman, who was let go in January. Patrick Iaccino has held the interim post since Leiferman’s termination.
