Cal State Fullerton Administrator Murdered on Campus
A Cal State Fullerton administrator was stabbed to death in the university’s parking lot Monday, the first day of the 2019 fall semester. Next to his body, authorities also found a backpack with “an incendiary device and items that could be used for an abduction,” according to CNN.
The victim has been identified as Shek Keung Chan, 57, of Hacienda Heights. He was a retired employee who had come back to work in international student registrations. He was killed at approximately 8:30 a.m.
As of Monday evening, the suspect had not yet been identified. He immediately ran from the scene but was observed by several witnesses. He is described as an Asian male in his mid-20s, according to CBS News.
Police were attending an active shooter drill nearby, so there was initially some confusion.
Authorities believe the victim was deliberately targeted.
