Colton Unified to Welcome New Superintendent on Jan. 1

The Colton Joint Unified School District has promoted Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Frank Miranda as its next superintendent pending a signed contract. Miranda will succeed Jerry Almendarez on Jan. 1. As CalSchoolNews reported Thursday, Almendarez has been selected for the same position by the Santa Ana Unified Board of Trustees.

“Miranda, a former teacher, principal and department head, has overseen projects that support kindness, literacy and holiday donation drives,” according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise. “The Business Services Division also has spurred the expansion of efforts to bring increased funding and awareness to the district’s energy conservation efforts.”

“We are lucky to have strong, talented leaders from within our own team to ensure that the purpose and vision that comes from all of us collectively continues in the right direction,” said Board President Joanna Thoring-Ojeda in a press release.
