Somis and Mesa Union School Districts Welcome New Superintendents

The community of Somis is welcoming two new school superintendents, according to the Ventura County Star. Somis Union and Mesa Union each appointed new leaders last week, effective July 1.

Somis’ next superintendent is Jesus Vaca, who currently serves as assistant superintendent of human resources for the Oxnard School District. He will succeed Colleen Robertson. She is retiring after nine years at the helm.

Mesa Union’s sitting schools chief, Jeff Turner, is leaving for the superintendent’s job at Colusa Unified School District. He is being replaced by Dr. Raul Ramirez, assistant superintendent of educational services at Santa Barbara Unified School District.
