Santa Clara County Releases School Coronavirus Guidelines

Santa Clara officials released a guidance for reopening K-12 public and private schools for the 2020-2021 school year last week. But whether they’ll actually be put into practice is anyone’s guess.

“It will depend on the containment of COVID-19 in the months to come,” said Santa Clara County Public Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody Tuesday. “As I mentioned before, we are monitoring a number of factors.”

Santa Clara, which was the state’s first coronavirus epicenter, is on high alert as much of the state and country is engulfed by another explosion of coronavirus cases. California added 5,898 cases on Tuesday. Nearby states like Arizona and Texas are inching close to a crisis of care, as patients exceed hospital ICU capacity.
