Study Says Older Kids, Teens More Likely to Spread COVID-19
A new study out of South Korea suggests people between the ages of 10 and 19 are more likely to transmit the novel coronavirus than young children and adults. The findings come as U.S. states and school districts consider returning to live instruction with pressure from the White House to reopen.
The research suggests reopening middle schools and high schools could be a dangerous gamble. On the other hand, they provide some hope for parents of young children. Participants in the study under the age of 10 spread the virus least among the age groups.
This was a large study examining contact tracing data from 5,706 COVID-19 patients and their 59,073 contacts.
