OC Education Board to Sue State Over School Closures
The Orange County Board of Education voted 4-0 last week to sue the state over health restrictions that will keep most of the state’s classrooms closed this fall.
Orange County is one of 38 counties on the state’s coronavirus watchlist. Gov. Gavin Newsom has said counties must be off the list for 14 days before they can return to live instruction.
This is the second time the Board has made a controversial decision on school closures. Last month, it recommended OC schools reopen their classrooms in the fall without masks or social distancing.
