Anti-Masker Physically Dragged Out of South Dakota School Board Meeting

Despite passionate pleas from medical professionals, some individuals continue to resist the use of face masks during the coronavirus pandemic. These protests often spill over into public meetings.

Case in point: A school board meeting in Mitchell, South Dakota where an unmasked attendee had to be physically dragged out by police after refusing to wear a mask.

“Force me out. You’re going to have to drag me out,” the man told officers after refusing to put on a face covering.

The police obliged and the man continued to resist, forcing one of the officers to pull out a taser.

“You’re going to have to tase me in front of all of these people” the man said.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Robert Redfield reiterated the importance of face masks on Wednesday, saying they are probably even more effective in reducing the spread of COVID-19 than an eventual vaccine.
