Former Pleasanton Supt Responds to Sexual Harrassment Allegations

Remember the Pleasanton superintendent who was fired after just six months on the job without cause? Well, it was probably related to some sexual harassment lawsuits filed against him.

According to the East Bay Times, Superintendent Rick Rubino had sent inappropriate emails to a female employee and was placed a leave a few days later. However, two months before this incident was a separate occasion of inappropriate conduct.

He still received his $256,000 salary though, per the terms of his contract.

The district is still on the hunt for a new Superintendent. Community forums were held this week to get input for the next school leader. Additionally, interested parties can fill out a survey identifying what characteristic s they would like to see for the next superintendent.

The new superintendent should be in place by July 1.
