Anaheim Board Allows for First OC Parent-Trigger Law Charter School to Open

Orange County officially has its first parent-trigger school after the Anaheim Elementary School board voted to rescind a 2015 vote.

Palm Lane Elementary is now in the process of being a charter school after parents spent more than two years fighting to convert the campus.

The 2010 California Parent Empowerment Act was co-authored by former state senator Gloria Romero, who hailed the charter school opening as a success.

In 2015, the trustees shot down the petition, and took their case to the California Supreme Court, which refused to hear it.
