Oceanside Unified Hires Mediator for Teacher Contract Negotiations

Salary negotiations at Oceanside Unified have reached a new point with both sides agreeing to have a mediator intervene.
The district and the union have been negotiating pay, health benefits and other issues for a year and a half now, with no end in sight.
The next meeting on Dec. 5 will now have a mediator who can hopefully please both sides of the aisle.
District officials are facing an at least $20 million deficit for the next two years.
