San Francisco Mayor Supports Recall of Three School Board Members
San Francisco Mayor London Breed is publicly showing support for the recall effort of three SF Unified school board members.
President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga and commissioner Alison Collins face a recall in February for the seats on the school board. Critics for the recall allege it is Republican-led attack against the three liberal officials. Meanwhile Breed states she supports what she says is an “effort led by parents.”
All three seats are up for election in November 2022, which has many calling this February election a waste of money for a 9-month term.
The SF Chronicle notes this is the first recall election in San Francisco since the unsuccessful recall of then-Mayor Dianne Feinstein in 1983.
