Peralta Community College District Hires New Chancellor

­Evergreen Valley College President Tammeil Gilkerson has been hired as the next chancellor of the Peralta Community College District in northern Alameda County. She will assume the role at the start of next year.

Gilkerson was one of four finalists for the position.

Gilkerson has presided over Evergreen for the past three years. She previously served as president of Laney College and, before that, as vice president of academic and student affairs at Contra Costa College.
